The R8 TDi V12 concept is a mid-engined sports car based on the original R8 introduced in 2006. The body changes from the original with new smart looking bumpers, a glass roof and an NACA air duct for large amouts of downforce and grip. Audi doesn't quote how much heavier the TDi unit is than the petrol V8, but too much extra weight could play havoc with the R8's delicate handling. Dispite being forcast to be cheaper than rival Lamborghinis and Mercedes, the perfomance doesn't lack in any areas what so ever.
